The Inter-American Society of Digestive Endoscopy (SIED) is an autonomous, non-profit organization, made up of national and regional societies of the Americas, to promote the advancement of digestive endoscopy in the continent.
Purposes & Objectives
- Promote the study and progress of Digestive Endoscopy for diagnosis and treatment
- Support activities related to the promotion and integration of Endoscopy in the American continent.
- Support and coordinate measures taken by member national societies to have and maintain best practice in endoscopy
- Stimulate the promotion of education and training of physicians in endoscopy
- Promote the exchange of training with the different member societies
- Organize live workshops on endoscopy topics
- Promote standardization of endoscopic terminology
- Manage and invest donations for the purposes of education and scientific research
- Periodically organize the Pan-American Congress of Digestive Endoscopy
Represent the American continent in the World Endoscopy Organization (WEO).
